A new regulation from the Israel Ministry of Health aims to record patients in intensive care units on video and audio without their consent for “learning and quality control” purposes.  With other privacy experts and advocates, including Noa Diamond, Eimi Lev, Dan Or-Hof, Haim Ravia, Michael Birnhack, we wrote a letter to the Ministry of Health to raise concerns about this new regulation. We outlined several mechanisms that could provide patients and their families with greater confidence that their information would only be used for legitimate purposes.

You can read more about the regulation and our letter in an article by Ido Efrati in Haaretz (here in PDF).
