We are happy to announce that Yaron Tal had successfully defended his project “Risk factors analysis of ambulance calls among users of emergency call service in Israel”, co-advised by Dr. Eran Toch and Dr. Michal Isaacson.
The work uses a survival analysis model to predict and explain risk factors for the occurrence of ordering an ambulance service based on the emergency button service data. The findings show that the more referrals there were to a doctor on the part of the clients, the greater the chance was of an event of ambulance services occurring. In addition, the more requests for ambulance services from the client, the likely hood of such requests increased over time. In contrast, non-medical communications are related to reduced risk of ambulance service.
